Multiple screenshots and artwork showing off Resident Evil 3 Remake have surfaced. Also, the multiplayer mode that raised many eyebrows when revealed also has a fork in the pie in that you can see screens of Resident Evil: Resistance.
The last time we covered the remake of Resident Evil was back in late January when a report notes that the game will use Denuvo at launch, which shouldn’t come in as a surprise given Capcom’s past track record.
On the topic of reports and digital protection, it looks like a new piece from DSOG has found that Capcom wasn’t fast enough to stop a leak of screenshots and artwork depicting various scenes in Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil: Resistance.
Although unconfirmed, the website claims that there will be environmental destruction in certain parts of Resident Evil 3 Remake, which if the game does have “environmental destruction,” it’ll likely be a use of parallax occlusion mapping (POM) masked in a per impact instance using a rendered target, but we’ll see.
Anyway, you can check out the 20 something screens right here showing in-game scenes and artwork of the forthcoming game and its multiplayer mode:
As for the game itself, it will expand on supporting characters in that they’ll have bigger roles in this edition, unlike the OG version. Additionally, producer Masao Kawada told Famitsu that story beats in this iteration are nearly the same as the original version, but more “rearrangements” are in place than Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Kawada also teased that those who know the game’s original ending and story will be able to find something “fresh” when playing the remake. Sadly, he didn’t go into much detail, but we’ll find out soon in the next couple of weeks when the game launches.
Speaking of launch day, Resident Evil 3 Remake will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 3rd, 2020.
