Nacon and Kylotonn Racing released a new video interview featuring the young superstar of motoracing, Davey Todd. He’s hailed as the new ambassador of the upcoming racing game, and talks about how he used the original TT Isle of Man to help him memorize the turns in the off-season so that he could attack the real track both aggressively and intelligently.
The video clocks in at just under four minutes, and it spotlights Davey Todd’s rise up the ranks through the field of motorsports, starting when he was just three years old. 20 years later and he’s already competing in the Isle of Man TT off the coast of Ireland.
His journey through the Isle of Man race was a unique one, since he began practicing for the track on his brother’s console using the original TT Isle of Man that came out back in spring of 2018. He managed to secure a global leaderboard position of second place, and then went on to compete in the real race where he appeared in the 2019 race and finished in the top eight.
Todd is now racing for Honda and shared his experience with gaming and the world of motorsports in the latest interview.
He explains that due to the realism of the game he was actually able to use the physics to learn the ins and outs of the turns; proper braking and proper acceleration.
He practiced on the track in the game until he was able to complete the entire course seamlessly and without any crashes. From there he began working on fast laps and improving his riding line. He took that knowledge from the game and applied it directly to his real-life run, which is how he managed to finish in the top eight and score the record of the second fastest newcomer in the Isle of Man.
TT Isle of Man 2 is scheduled to release on March 19th for the PS4, Xbox One, and on PC. The game will launch at a later date for the Nintendo Switch.
