Carrion Sneak Peek Demo Available For Limited Time

It’s not often you get to play as a villain in a video game. Oftentimes you’re a goody two-shoes trying to save the world, a loved one, humanity, or prevent global disaster from taking place. In the case of Phobia Game Studio and Devolver Digital’s Carrion, the game places you in the role of an amorphous eldritch creature that starts off trying to survive, and eventually mutates into a dominate force trying to eradicate everything in its path.

Phobia Game Studio recently dropped a special sneak peek demo that’s only available to play over the course of the next day, so if you plan on getting in on the action you have to act fast. The sneak peek is available over on the Steam store page.

The game is being rightfully hailed as a “reverse horror” experience due to the fact that Carrion captures all of the themes and elements of a classic horror title, but instead of being pursued by the horror and trying to find weapons to fight back, you are the horror.

You start off as a small carrion insectoid, hideous and dangerous. However, you’ll need to explore the laboratory in order to feed and grow both stronger and larger.

The hook for the game is that as you expand in size and strength, you’ll also be able to unlock new abilities and ways to navigate.

One of the really big selling points for Carrion is that the game has fantastic animations, with the abomination moving and latching onto surfaces in a disturbingly fascinating way.

The physics for the movements of the carrion is what’s most impressive and it’s not often we see developers explore that kind of content in gaming, despite having a wealth of technology at their fingertips to do so.

In any case, you’ll want to act fast and check out the demo because it will no longer be available before March 24th.
