Universal Pictures announced that Fast & Furious 9 starring Vin Diesel and John Cena has been delayed by an entire year. After spending years making the film and the last six months heavily promoting the film, the action flick has been postponed from its original release due to the spread of the coronavirus.
Variety is reporting that the new release date for the film is April 2nd, 2021 in the U.S., and April, 2021 for the rest of the world.
Since China, South Korea, and Italy are on quarantine and public places are all inaccessible, which means no going out to the movies.
Other big budget films have also been affected by the quarantines, including Mulan and James Bond: No Time To Die, both of which have had their premieres postponed.
Fast & Furious 9, however, is one of those “too big to fail” franchises at this point, so you know things are serious if they’re willing to pull the plug on this movie.
I imagine the big wigs at Hollywood are probably sweating bullets by now, seeing one big franchise after another hit that delay button in hopes that by fall of this year or early next year the corona scare will have died down.
However, funnily enough it was the same woke retards in the media that Hollywood likes to pander to so much that downplayed the effects of the virus and encouraged state departments and governments not to initiate quarantines earlier because acting responsibly was considered “racist” against the Chinese. Now they’re all losing billions due to their ineptitude and there’s nothing but schadenfreude to go around.
Corona-chan isn’t slowing down, though, and since protective measures weren’t instituted as soon as the news became serious back in January, it means a lot more people will affected, infected, and more businesses, marketplaces and entertainment ventures will have to shut down.
On the upside, Hollywood is reaping what it sowed. Next time they better learn not to get woke and maybe they won’t go broke.
