First S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Screenshot Released

The last time we reported on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was back when Epic wrote up a letter that GSC Game World shared, making fans paranoid that the upcoming first-person action-survival title will be an Epic Games Store timed exclusive. Although at this point we don’t know what PC storefront S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will launch on, a new screenshot has surfaced showing off what the sequel might look like at launch.

GSC Game World took to Twitter to show gamers their first look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, in which the image reveals car wreckage sprawled throughout a dreary old forest with what looks to be a portal or some form of an anomaly in the sky.

You can see the image for yourself right here:

And accompanying the image comes a letter saying to expect more of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 news later this year. With that said, you can read the tweet as posted below:

If you can’t see the above tweet, here’s the written version:

“Greetings, Stalkers!

Thirteen years ago we released S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

The world was never the same after that. Millions of players rushed into the Zone. Driven by the desire to uncover mysteries, you overcame difficulties, hunted for treasures, fought monsters and joined factions.

You changed to become the real Stalkers.

You made this day forever special.

Being inspired by everything you do (including arts, stories, cosplays and mods), we fully understand we can’t let you down. The second chapter of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. saga will be our most ambitious game so far. It will live to the legendary legacy.

A lot of you are joining social isolation now. That’s why today, on a very special occasion, we are ready to slightly uncover the mystery of what we are working on. This is the first glimpse of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

Consider it as our humble present, with more to come in 2020.”

In other words, the screenshot is the first of the many things to come regarding S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Sadly, though, it’s unclear when we’ll hear about this new info in 2020, but it’s safe to assume that you’ll find anything new related to the sequel by hitting up gsc-game.com.

Lastly, all that we know right now is that the second game will be the company’s most ambitious game yet while using Unreal Engine 4.
