Once More Kickstarter Campaign Winds Down With A Free Demo

Malheur Games took to Kickstarter recently to help fund the release of their new visual novel called Once More. The project currently has just 11 days to go as of the writing of this article, and they’re about $633 shy of their goal.

The game is actually kind of neat insofar that the story is about a fellow named Felix who encounters the Great Library, a place where a seemingly infinite supply of books reside that have no words. When someone attempts to read one of the books they’re able to relive the memories or images of what the authors imagined for the books.

Felix comes across a reaper named Shifa, who strikes a deal with him: that he must show her how romance plays out in real life and how it differs from all the books she’s experienced in the Great Library. If he can successfully convince her then she’ll allow him to add a book to the library.

Depending on the choices players make and how they help Shifa understand the difference between the romance in fiction and the romance in Felix’s world will determine what sort of ending you unlock, and how Felix’s fate will unfold.

The full game will feature a CG gallery, background viewers, scene jumper, and a music room.

If all goes as planned the developers at Malheur Games have plans on releasing Once More in early 2021, and at the moment you can wishlist the game over on the Steam store.

If you’re still not convinced about the romantic visual novel with dating sim elements, you can actually get a taste of it yourself by visiting the Once More Itch.io page where there’s a free demo available to download.

The demo will grant you access to about two hours worth of story.

If you think that Once More is worth the price of entry, you can contribute to the cause by visiting the Kickstarter page and pledging before the the campaign runs out.
