Although Takashi Iwade has passed away back in August of 2019 due to an illness, his legacy will carry on through the now released remake of the older Panzer Dragoon, which will also hit Stadia and PC sometime this winter. In other words, the Switch digital version is now up for download for $29.99 via the Nintendo eShop.
For those of you that aren’t into digital editions and want a physical copy of Panzer Dragoon Remake, then know that pre-orders for the latter version will kick-off through website limitedrungames.com on March 27th, 2020.
Moreover, despite the genius behind the Panzer Dragoon series not being around to help out or see his work release as a remake, Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio S. A. have carried on his work by improving the graphics and controls, while preserving the seven levels ranging from the iconic tropical blue ocean stage to the intricate subterranean ruins.
And, of course, you will be able to fight the Prototype Dragon along with other familiar enemies like the giant dragonflies, wasps, sandworms, and the lethal battleships by using improved 360-degree controls and a better lock-on targeting system.
Anyway, you can check out the latest trailer for the newly released game right here:
“A new, remade version of the Panzer Dragoon game – true to the original, with improved graphics and controls, that suit modern gaming standards!”
If all of the above looks like something that you can get behind but you don’t own a Switch, PC goers will be able to play Panzer Dragoon Remake late this year. However, seeing that the game is a timed exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, according to segadriven.com, it may land on other platforms besides Stadia and PC.
Lastly, to summarize all of the above, Switch owners will be able to play Panzer Dragoon Remake right now digitally, although you can pre-order a physical copy from Limited Run Games as of March 27th. However, folks that like the dying platform that is Stadia will gain access to the remake later this year, while PC goers via Steam can go hands-on with the remake this winter.
