In a recent news announcement from the Elvis movie production, actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for the Corona Virus, as reported by Variety. Following a bought of exhaustion and flu-like symptoms, the couple were tested for Corvid-19 and were found to be positive. In their public statement, they have announced they remain positive and are cooperating with health officials on the scene in Australia.
“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.
Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?
We’ll keep the world posted and updated.
Take care of yourselves!”
Currently, it is unknown how many of the staff have also contracted the virus. It is known to be spreadable during its asymptomatic periods that have been recorded as high as 28 days in length. At this time it is entirely possible the entire staff has come into contact with the pathogen, but there has been no official confirmation.
Warner Bros., the producers for the movie, have issued their own statement that summarizes their cooperation with Australian officials while not mentioning Hanks and his wife by name. Nor the extent of how many have been infected aside from the couple.
“We have been made aware that a company member from our Elvis feature film, which is currently in pre-production in The Gold Coast, Australia, has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus). We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world. The individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently receiving treatment.”
Hanks has been infamously critical of President Trump’s policies and has even advocated for open borders. It is ironic that his very same policy of globalism and open borders may have just put his family and associates’ lives on the line.
At this time they remain the first Hollywood Elite to have contracted the virus.
