The Legend of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel 4 Heading To PS4 Fall, 2020

Nihon Falcom and NIS America announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV is making its debut in the West for the PlayStation 4 starting at some point in the fall of 2020. The game originally came out in Japan back in the fall of 2018, and patient Westerners will be able to get their hands on it later this year.

The game finally brings to conclusion the story that’s been boiling and building up over the course of four games starting back since 2013. The seven year journey will come to a head on PS4 this fall, but PC and Nintendo Switch gamers will also have an opportunity to play the game starting in 2021.

The announcement was accompanied by an English dubbed trailer, which you can check out below.

You don’t get to see much of the gameplay in the trailer, but that’s because it’s pretty much the same as the previous entries in the series.

Visually the game is the same as the other games, and the turn-based combat is still intact. But then again it’s not like people played The Legend of Heroes titles for their striking visuals.

The character development over the course of the four games is likely what will lure most fans back into the fold. And NIS is already betting on some hooked fans to spend big money on the game ahead of its Western release, which is why they opened up pre-orders.

If you head over to the NIS store page pre-orders are currently available for the Switch version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV, even though it’s not due out until a year from now.

Anyway, expect the usual fanfare of botched localizations, complaints of censorship, and the whole shebang when The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV launches this fall in the West for the PS4.
