Remedy Is Working On A Project That Will Appear On The Epic Games Store, As Per Reports

On November 22nd, 2019, we reported on Sam Lake — creator of Max Payne and Control — teasing work on a “new story” that calls for him to take to his brand new top-secret writing lair. As of now, multiple reports have gone up pointing to a Remedy Entertainment game listed on the Epic Games Store database under the codename “BigFish.”

As noted in the introductory paragraph, you can see the tweet in question that depicts Lake teasing said project right here:

Months later, on February 15th, 2020, Lake and Remedy Entertainment boasted how over 200 people were working at the company. And according to the company’s official website, the team makes it known that its diversity quota spans over 25 nationalities:

“Remedy’s diverse team of 200 people and over 25 nationalities is located in a privately housed studio building.

Time at the studio doesn’t have to be all work and no play. If you feel like it, you can take part in our movie and game nights, wellbeing afternoons or any of the various social activities Remedy employees organize with the support of the company.”

Fast forward to March 27th, 2020 and that day sees Epic Games Publishing branch signing gen DESIGN, Playdead, and Remedy Entertainment under its wing to make “next-gen games.” With all of that said, you can read the official blurb regarding what Epic Games Publishing offers its partners:

  • Full creative freedom and ownership: Developers retain 100% of all intellectual property and full creative control of their work.
  • Fully-funded projects: Epic Games Publishing will cover up to 100% of development costs, from developer salaries to go-to-market expenses such as QA, localization, marketing, and all publishing costs.
  • 50/50 profit sharing: Developers earn a fair share for their work — once costs are recouped, developers earn at least 50% of all profits.

With the aforesaid out of the way, websites gamerant.com and dsogaming.com report how they have found the following listings on epicdata.info:

  • DevGenBigFishAudience — Remedy Entertainment
  • BigFishStaging — Remedy Entertainment
  • BigFish — Remedy Entertainment
  • DevBigFishAudience — Remedy Entertainment
  • BigFishGeneralAudience — Remedy Entertainment

It’s worth noting that DevGenBigFishAudience was created on May 25th. As for the other titles, they were all created on May 11th, 2020.

The real question here is, are you willing to play this new game by Remedy Entertainment’s diverse team after Quantum Break, Control, and the Epic Games Store deal?
