Sony and Naughty Dog have released the official story trailer for The Last of Us: Part 2. The newly published trailer offers a look at scenes previously showcased in various video leaks as well as new ones. However, this same trailer also arrives with its comments and like/dislike ratio disabled.

The new video contains all sorts of footage ranging from Ellie setting out to get revenge, to Joel telling Ellie how he wished “things were different.” We see various individuals dying, being threatened, along with sporadic shots of confrontation.

In addition to the above, the newly released trailer also touches on a “vicious and violent event” and how it disrupts the peace that Ellie has found in Jackson, which drives her to bring justice to those responsible for said attack.

The story is said to explore confrontation, devastation, and emotional repercussion. With that said, here’s the official description and video trailer:

Watch the all-new story trailer for The Last of Us Part II launching on June 19, 2020. After a vicious and violent event disrupts the relative peace that Ellie has found in Jackson, she sets out to bring justice to those responsible. As she hunts them down one by one, she is confronted with the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of her actions.

And of course, the video trailer arrives on the net with its comments and like/dislike ratio disabled, further proving the leaked footage (as also seen in the above trailer) to be true.

Sony and Naughty Dog, on multiple occasions, have copyright struck a bunch of content creators regarding The Last of Us: Part 2 leaks. Additionally, the two have also gone on a campaign to purge any of the leaked footage — even if its memes. However, those that happened to see the leaked footage weren’t pleased with what they saw, and in combination with Sony, Naughty Dog, and Neil Druckmann’s actions, the whole situation turned into a fiasco.

In an attempt to sweep everything that recently unfolded under the rug to save face, Sony and Naughty Dog are now trying to silence anything remotely related to the game’s leaked story beats as well as fan opposition, hence the disabled comments and like/dislike ratio.

And lastly, Druckmann will comment on the leaks after The Last of Us: Part 2 releases for PS4 on June 19th, 2020.
