The crowdfunded adventure game from 6E6E6E called Radio The Universe has slowly been making its way through the development process, and recently the developers announced that the release window has been narrowed down to winter, 2020.
The news came via both a tweet and a new trailer for the game. The tweet was posted on June 21st, 2020, where they rolled out the links and release window.

The trailer is also included in the tweet, but it’s low resolution and probably won’t play via an embed on the web page. If you’re unable to view the trailer through the tweet, don’t worry about it. They uploaded the trailer to YouTube, which you can check out below.
Even though the game uses the minimalist sprite-work for the characters, the actual environments are quite splendid, if I must say so myself.
The post-apocalyptic dystopia is brought to life with a lot of interesting palette choices and color blends that creates a somewhat, hazy, dream-like depiction of this violent, forsaken society.
The use of chromatic aberration and low-contrasting hues in some areas, I think, helps bring the bleakness to the forefront of the visual presentation for Radio The Universe.
As far as the gameplay is concerned, it’s like a mix of The Legend of Zelda and Hyper Light Drifter.
There’s a strong resonating element of reflex-based puzzle solving and environmental trekking, which could give it some long life in the speed-running community (had the community not been subverted by the Bunghole Bolsheviks). In any case, you can wishlist Radio The Unvierse right now over on the Steam store page or look for it to launch this winter.
