Samurai Simulator Coming Soon To Steam

Game Hunters and PlayWay S.A., announced that they have a new sim coming soon to Steam: Samurai Simulator. The game’s announcement comes on the heels of PlayWay also announcing that Rock Games is working on a game made in a similar wave length called Ninja Simulator.

The big difference between the two is that one is supposed to be a stealth sim where you sneak around as a ninja, attempting to dispatch enemies using a sword in fast and deadly combat, where-as the Samurai Simulator is about engaging in what’s showcased in the teaser as a technical back and forth between skilled swordsmen set in ancient Japan.

You can check out the seven second teaser trailer (yes, only seven seconds) courtesy of Game Hunters.

While the trailer doesn’t really reveal much about the actual game, the store description explains that you start off as a warrior born in a Japanese village who spends their childhood growing up around Japanese culture in order to become one with the way of the samurai.

From there, they explain that you’ll spend your time looking after a samurai master, practicing the art of sword fighting, and focusing your mind and body on becoming the best warrior that you can be.

After joining a Daimyo and becoming a soldier in the army, you’ll have to fight in duels or engage in fights, or attempt to preserve your honor from wrongdoing by committing seppuku.

I have no idea how well this game will play out given that the teaser doesn’t give us any hint as to what the actual gameplay will be like, but at least graphically it looks interesting. So long as they stay true to the lifestyle and culture of a samurai in Japan, and they don’t attempt to add any kind of “diversity”, I think the game could turn out somewhat decent.

You can keep an eye on Samurai Simulator or add it to your wishlist by visiting the Steam store page.
