The Legend of Heroes: Trails Of Azure Fan-Translation Project Announced

GeoFront announced that they have already undertaken the mammoth task of translating Nihon Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki. They’re calling it The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Azure, and this is going to be the team’s next big project following the release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero back in March.

The announcement for the new translation project was made on June 10th, 2020 over on the official GeoFront website.

The brief blog post revealed that they’re already 75% done with the editing. They also released a teaser trailer to give you a taste of what they’ve done so far, but sadly it doesn’t contain any actual in-game play at the moment. You can still check out the teaser trailer below.

In the blog post they further explain that they’re basing their translation on the work that was originally started over on HeroesOfLegend.org, and have been advancing on the translation from there.

However, they make it clear that this is not a community mod effort or some other vanity project built around custom content or modified dialogue; the team is staying true to the original story and characters, and will be faithfully translating everything as-is. So you shouldn’t have to worry about any kind of wonky text or out-of-character moments appearing in the patch the way they do with NIS America localizations.

GeoFront didn’t give an ETA on when you can expect the translation to be made available or how you can get your hands on a legal copy of the game, yet, but they have plans on rolling out that information soon enough.
