XIII Remake To Launch Across PC And Home Consoles On November 10th, 2020

IGN posted up its own summer games event to replace the now-canceled E3 2020 trade show. The event dubbed “The Summer of Gaming” has shown off gameplay footage of Microïds and PlayMagic’s XIII remake. The game in question will launch for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on November 10th, 2020.

Although I’m not a fan of the trailer, nor am I a fan of the lack of comic-book aesthetics present in the remake, it looks like gamers and fans alike will be able to go hands-on with the remake later this year across PC and home consoles.

You can check out the gameplay trailer right here, which showcases new weapon designs, updated graphics, familiar locations/stages, as well as voices overs from the OG game:

“Play as XIII, a talented soldier who lost his memory and has been accused of killing the President of the United States. You wake up injured and amnesic on Brighton Beach with the only clue being a small key and a mysterious tattoo XIII next to your clavicle. It’s now your job to search for answers through a 34 levels solo campaign. Don’t worry, you will find the appropriate weapon arsenal along the way.”

If you have no idea what XIII is, the upcoming game is a remake of the 2003 first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Paris and published by Ubisoft. The 16-year-old game is loosely based on the first five volumes of the 1984 Belgian graphic novel series that goes by the same name — XIII.

The story of the game in question follows a confused agent suffering from amnesia who must uncover his true identity while unraveling the plan of a gang of 20 conspirators and the killer of the President of the United States.

Last but not least, the 2020 remake of XIII will hit PC via Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. As noted above, the first-person shooter of the 2003 game will debut late this year during the early part of November where more info is up on microids.com.
