The Last Faith, Soulsborne Metroidvania Targets 2021 Release On Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One

Imagine a side-scrolling version of Bloodborne with a visual art-style mirrored after Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and music not unlike that of Blasphemous. What do you get? You get the very visually impressive and darkly foreboding project from Kumi Souls Games called The Last Faith.

The imagery alone for this game is so vivid that I actually got stuck trying to figure out which header image to use. They’re all so great and so many shots from the game’s Kickstarter trailer standout so much that it was hard to just settle for one.

But don’t take my word for it, check out the promotional trailer for The Last Faith below and see it for yourself.

Now you don’t have to worry about pledging any money towards the game’s creation because all of that has been settled thanks to the Kickstarter being successful this past June, raising more than £210,075.

If all goes as planned, they expect to have the game up and out for the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and on Steam for PC by September of 2021.

The game puts players in the role of Eric, who must uncover the fate behind one of the most prestigious places on the planet falling to dark fiends and malevolent forces.

You’ll have a variety of weapons at your disposal, along with power-ups and buffs to increase their prowess during combat.

The real highlight of The Last Faith is in its horror-inspired atmosphere and creatively disturbing creatures that inhabit the very dark yet mesmerizing world.

The art design really is top notch here, and it’s not reliant on the typical Flash-style animations that we see in so many other 2D games these days.

The quality is absolutely top notch and appears to be the natural evolution of everything that we saw in games like Death’s Gambit and Salt & Sanctuary.

The Last Faith is still a long ways out from release, but if what we’ve seen is any indication of what they have in store for release, this could be the making of a worthwhile franchise.
