Fallout TV Series Heading To Amazon From Westworld Creators

Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are looking to work on Westworld season 4 and the Fallout intellectual property. Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks will be working with Nolan and Joy along with KilterFilms to create a new Fallout TV series as an “Amazon original” show.

To clarify things, more companies are associated with the aforesaid names and will make this new Fallout TV show. It’s unclear when the forthcoming series will air, but right now we know that it’s currently in the works:

It’s worth noting that Nolan and Joy will act as executive producers alongside Athena Wickham, Todd Howard, and James Altman. Additionally, Lionsgate will help out too. On the topic of Nolan and Joy, this is what they had to say in a joint statement that website hollywoodreporter.com picked up:

“Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”

Big boy Howard chimed in too and offered his two cents on Fallout coming to the small screen often known as the idiot tube:

“Over the last decade, we looked at many ways to bring ‘Fallout’ to the screen. But it was clear from the moment I first spoke with Jonah and Lisa a few years ago, that they and the team at Kilter were the ones to do it right. We’re enormous fans of their work and couldn’t be more excited to work with them and Amazon Studios.”

Adding on to the pile of people working on the upcoming TV series is Albert Cheng, COO and co-head of television at Amazon Studios, saying the following:

“Fallout is an iconic global franchise, with legions of fans worldwide and a rich, deeply compelling storyline that powers it. And Jonah and Lisa are the perfect storytellers to bring this series to life. We’re thrilled to join with Bethesda to bring Fallout to television.”

It’ll be interesting to see if this Fallout show will “just work” or if it will be a hot mess like Fallout 76 and its canvas bag, premium leather jacket, and Nuka Dark Rum? Anyway, the show is currently in the works and has no release window as of this writing.
