Darq Is Heads To Xbox Series X, PS5 In 2020

Unfold Games announced on Twitter that the platforming-puzzle horror game, Darq, will be making its way to home consoles later this year, including the Nintendo Switch and both Microsoft and Sony’s brand of gaming devices. This includes the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, along with their next-gen iterations, the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

The announcement came via a tweet on August 13th, 2020, acknowledging help from publisher Feardemic and horror game developer Bloober Team for getting Darq ported to home consoles..

Darq originally released on PC back in August of 2019, making some notable dents in the press circuit for not being an Epic Games Store exclusive and releasing on Steam instead.

Unfold Games later released some free DLC for Darq in early 2020 titled “The Tower”, after receiving a lot of positive feedback from gamers and critics alike.

Now, it’s been revealed that Unfold has been spending the spring and summer working on porting Darq to home consoles so that they too can experience what PC gamers were able to play last year.

The game reminds me a lot of Little Monsters set in a world visually inspired by Tim Burton and H.R. Giger.

The unique 2.5D perspective and puzzles help separate it from a lot of other games out there, while the horror elements certainly give it that jolt to keep gamers glued to their seats.

No exact release date has been set for Darq on home consoles, but it will be one of the first next-gen games to arrive on the PS5 and Xbox Series X later this year.
