Gotham Knights Gameplay Video Receives Backlash Over Stuttering And RPG Mechanics

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Warner Bros. Games Montreal recently revealed the upcoming superhero game Gotham Knights. Slated to release across PC and home consoles, the new game seems to be off to a poor start with gamers and fans due to the official premiere gameplay trailer boasting poor optimization and RPG mechanics.

I’m not sure how game trailers like Halo: Infinite and Gotham Knights have been given the greenlight by higher-ups when both videos are clearly lacking when it comes to presentation, but I digress.

Before jumping into the many problems present in the gameplay trailer, you can check out the world premiere video detailing what Batgirl, Nightwing, RedHood, and Robin must do to protect Gotham City:

“Batman is dead. It is now up to the Batman Family – Batgirl, Nightwing, RedHood, and Robin – to protect Gotham City, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. You must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save Gotham from chaos.”

As per the following video, the game will have a level system that sees enemies acting differently at lower and higher levels. In other words, random thugs may pose more of a threat if you don’t level-up “properly.”

Also, the game has a lot of performance issues. I’m not sure if Mr. Freeze ice is causing the game to “freeze-up,” but on a serious note, the next-gen game stutters way too much for this to be a world premiere trailer.

With that said, you can check out the trailer that has gamers and fans downvoting and expressing their disappointment in the YouTube comment section right here:

“Get a glimpse of open-world Gotham City where Batgirl and Robin join forces to take on Mr. Freeze in one of several Villain encounters found within the city. They’ll use a variety of abilities, weapons, and unique combat moves to neutralize their foes.”

Finally, Gotham Knights will release sometime in 2021 across PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
