IO Interactive will release Hitman 3 sometime in January 2021. Although that’s five months away, the game will become available across PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X. However, the former platform will be restricted to being an Epic Games Store timed exclusive next year.

That’s correct, Hitman 3 will one day land on other PC clients like Steam, but that won’t happen until 2022. In other words, the disingenuous and hypocritical Tim Sweeney and his bare-bones storefront will hold the assassin game hostage for one entire year.

The part that makes this one year timed exclusivity even worse is that IO Interactive is both the publisher and developer, which means that the company agreed to this scummy deal and wasn’t forced into it.

Moreover, IO Interactive expanded on partnering with the Epic Games Store in a new blog post on ioi.dk/hitman:

“As an independent studio, our partnership with Epic has given us the freedom to create HITMAN 3 exactly as we imagined and self-publish the game to our players directly. It’s also important to us that we honour the time our existing PC players have spent in our previous games.

With that in mind, we are pleased to confirm that PC players will be able to carryover their current progression and unlocks from HITMAN 2 on Steam into HITMAN 3 on Epic Games Store. It will also be possible for PC players to import locations from the previous two games into HITMAN 3 on Epic Games Store. We want to make it a seamless process for our PC players to enjoy HITMAN 3 on a different PC platform and continue to enjoy the benefits of our World of Assassination.”

With the platform nonsense out of the picture, Hitman 3 will feature two stages so far that consist of Dubai and now Dartmoor. You can check out the teaser trailer for the newly announced mission right here:

As noted above, Hitman 3 will release sometime in January 2021 across PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X. As for Steam goers, the game will launch for said client sometime in 2022.
