Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare Not Listed For Xbox 360, PS3

Activision and Infinity Ward have finally officially announced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The game was officially announced along with details on the special editions and a three minute trailer that gives you a look at the futuristic, space-oriented combat. However, you won’t be experiencing it on the Xbox 360 or PS3.

Thankfully, it appears as if Activision is done and finished with the decade old 360 and PS3. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and the officially remastered rendition of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are only listed for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

You can get the remastered version of Modern Warfare in the Legacy or Digital Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare, which comes with a copy of Call of Duty 4 for $79.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with both games and a season pass for $99.99. And the Legacy Pro Edition comes with both games, a season pass, a collectible steelbook, special DLC items, and the game’s official soundtrack all for $119.99.

Now on to the real special meat and potatoes of the post. That trailer you’ve been dying to see. Check it out below.

So players will take on the role of a Captain in command of their own spaceship. Players will travel through space, battling against the Settlement Defense Frontier.

For the first time in the history of the series, players will battle in space against enemies, Star Citizen-style.

Dave Stohl, the studio head of Infinity Ward, commented about the game’s new direction, stating in the press release…

“With Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, we are taking Call of Duty to places fans have never experienced in the series,” […] “On one hand, this game is the kind of gritty, boots on the ground, visceral war story that Call of Duty is known for. On the other, its future setting takes players on a journey of epic scale and proportions, providing incredible gameplay innovations and new experiences for our fans. This is a grand scale, old-school, all-out war in an epic new-school setting. And it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun.”

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Don Cheadle… is that you? Please tell me that War Machine is in space representing good ‘ole U.K? Because if that’s the case, Infinite Warfare just got infinitely better.

And yes, players will still run around, gunning down hordes of faceless NPCs…. but then they’ll hop into their spaceship and perform some Buckaroo Banzai across the frontier of space, taking down baddies as if they were the last starfighter.

Apart from a campaign that travels the galaxy, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will also feature a cooperative zombie mode. According to the press release gamers will team up with friends in a brand new story where they’ll take on the roles of a new cast of zombie slayers, battling against hordes of the undead.

I guess if Infinity Ward couldn’t be arsed to come up with something new, they could very well imitate Treyarch’s very successful approach to the whole zombie thing in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Let’s just hope they don’t further oversaturate a genre that’s already oversaturated.

You can look for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to launch this fall on November 4th, 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC for $59.99. Need more info? Feel free to hit up the official website.
