Throughout all the chaos of E3 this past week, there are a ton of games, screenshots and trailers that have been let loose that flew well under the radar. Well, thankfully now that the conferences are complete we can sift through the remnants of assets still floating around and bring gamers some news about a few of the lesser known titles that were showcased at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
One of those titles happened to be Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity, the indie-made action-RPG for PC. This time, however, the title is making the leap to the PlayStation 4 this fall thanks to a little help from publishing partner XSeed Games.
They recently released a trailer showcasing the action-RPG running at 1080p and 60fps on the PS4, which you can check out below thanks to Operation Rainfall.
The story sees players takingo n the role of vampire Remilia Scarlet. She becomes bored of her life of immortality until one day she comes upon news of a monster rampaging through the town. After attempting to find the monster and failing, the monster manages to destroy her mansion. So Remilia takes her maid servant Sakuya Izayoi with her as they journey out and attempt to track down the monster and beat into a pulp.
According to the press release, this particular outing of Scarlet Curiosity deviates from the series’ tried and true roots as a bullet-hell shooter, instead it adopts the action-oriented gameplay associated with standard ARPGs.
Players will be able to choose between Remilia and Sakuya, both of which have their own unique styles of play. Remilia focuses on using her vampire abilities and magic attacks, while Sakuya uses her time control powers and close-quarters knife skills to dispatch enemies.
Unfortunately the the dynamic female duo does not open the door for couch co-op or any sort of cooperative play. The game is strictly single-player.
You can look for Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity to launch later this year for the PlayStation 4. For more info feel free to visit the official XSeed Games website.
