Square Enix released a new story trailer for Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness that doesn’t really talk much about the game’s story but definitely reveals the release window for the title.
The trailer is just under two minutes and focuses on the main protagonist, Fidel, as he journeys into space to save his home world against evil forces. One thing that is made clear in the trailer is that the mysterious young girl Relia ends up in the company of the space travelers and must be protected to avoid falling into the grasps of those taking over Fidel’s planet. You can see the trailer in action below to soak in all the awesome imagery.
One thing about the trailer that kind of has me a little confused is the platform listings. We know that the game is coming for the PS3 and PS4… but in this trailer – for the European and American release – the only platform listed is the PS4.
Maybe Square is axing the PS3 out of its Western plans? I can’t blame them because it’s about time that AAA publishers start leaving the seventh gen consoles behind.
Pre-orders for Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness are available right now from participating e-tailers, but you won’t gain much insight into the game from the store pages. Amazon is still listing the title as arriving on December 30th, 2016.
In addition to revealing the release window for this upcoming Star Ocean outing, Square also wanted gamers to dip their auricular senses in the game’s localized English voice-overs. I can’t say I’m impressed.
Subs over dubs, for life.
Anyway, Square also wanted gamers to hear the new theme song for this Star Ocean, which features the music from Japanese rock band androp. The name of the song is “Astra Nova”.
The trailer doesn’t reveal too much more than what we’ve already seen in previous Japanese trailers and the torrent of screenshots that have been released, but it’s always a pleasure to see the game’s gorgeous HD graphics and fluid animations in action.
You can keep track of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness by hitting up the game’s official website. While pre-orders are open you won’t be seeing this game on store shelves for the PS4 until late into the summer.
