Want to see what it looks like when your custom character powers up and goes Super Saiyan mode in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2? Well, Bandai Namco released some footage over the weekend, showcasing various clips of the upcoming game where each of the different race types activated their super transformation abilities.
YouTuber IZUNIY posted up the minute long trailer that you can check out below.
We get to see three different types of transformations, but only the humans/Saiyans get to go full Super Saiyan 3 and get the blonde hair makeover. The one girl that they were playing at the beginning of the clip looked like she turned into a teenage boy with her transformation.
The new super specials and combos all look on point. Usually CyberConnect2 handles the Dragon Ball Z games, but Dimps is in charge of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse titles and they seem to have found a pretty good niche with their sandbox-style fighting game. It’s certainly far improved over the work they did with Street Fighter X Tekken.
The upcoming Dragon Ball title features an all new city to explore, up to 300 players per city hub, new transportation, new character customization features, and all new moves and story quests to play through. The first Xenoverse game turned out to be a huge success for Bandai Namco when it released last year, so we’ll see if they can capture the lightning again with the upcoming sequel.
The comment section on one of the videos breaks down into an argument about what the female Super Buu class looks like because some people didn’t want their character to turn transgender, going from female to male. Others defended it as Dimps and Bandai being lazy. A few more just wish that Dimps would have taken the time to make the super transformations unique to each custom character.
The clips are too small to tell for sure and we haven’t seen all of the races do their super transformation, so I’ll reserve judgment until we see more.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is due for release on October 28th for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
