Monster Hunter Stories Trailer Shows New Characters And Exploration

In an attempt to expand the world of Monster Hunter, Capcom seeks to do just that with the upcoming game Monster Hunter: Stories. Featuring new characters, monsters, taming and locations, the latest trailer shows all of the above in a near three minute package.

As I noted before, I’m a big fan of Monster Hunter games. Although I would prefer a newer Monster Hunter game that’s not on a handheld device, I can’t complain too much because the most recent games still deliver that intense atmosphere that calls for paying attention to enemies, weapons and the surrounding environment.

Well, in this version of Monster Hunter, players will be able to tame different creatures that made an appearance throughout the series. One of which is (my personally hated monster) the Lagombi.

Speaking of the Lagombi, other creatures such as the Tigrex, Narcgacuga, Khezu, Rathian, Aptonoth, Lagiacrus, Brachydios, Qurupeco and the Zingore are shown off in recently released trailers. Each of the monsters’ trailers show what they are capable of and how they can be tamed. The trailers also dive into other features, but briefly.

With that said, this brings us to the latest forth trailer, which is more like an overall introductory of various characters and locations. You can check the video out below, thanks to CapcomChannel.

So far, the game doesn’t look that bad to me and seems pretty cool. Also, I’m a big fan of capturing and taming pets in games like Pokemon, which seems interesting that the Monster Hunter animals can become call-ins to help out in dire situations, or to help speed up travel time.

Anyways, Monster Hunter Stories currently has no Western release date, and will likely be announced sometime in the near future. However, it is noted that the game will release out for the 3DS in Japan on October 8th.
