NieR: Automata Set To Hit PC Via Steam Early 2017

During Gamescom Square Enix announced that NieR: Automata will hit PC via Steam early next year, which is set around Q1 2017. The game was previously announced for PS4, along with a release date of 2017, too.

One of the games I’m looking forward to and seeing more of is NieR: Automata. I’m really liking the quick stylized combat, and the hack-and-slash gameplay that they’ve showcased so far.

Those of you who enjoy gaming on PC will also be able to enjoy Platinum Games and Square Enix’s NieR: Automata early next year alongside PS4 gamers, due to the devs working on a Steam version.

The PC version was announced when Square Enix was at Gamescom, which I’m sure they will elaborate more on, along with other features sometime in the coming weeks. But as of now the devs released some screenshots and songs to hold folks over until they reveal more.

However, before putting up the new images and songs, those who do not know the story behind NieR: Automata, producer Yosuke Saito, director Taro Yoko and composer Keiichi Okabe returned, teaming up with Akikiko Yoshida and Platinum Games to tell the next entry in the saga.

Additionally, the game follows androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their journey to reclaim a machine world, overtaken by mechanical lifeforms that are very powerful weapons. Later, Earth is suddenly invaded by extraterrestrial life forms armed with bio-machine weapons.

With that said, you can listen to the recently posted theme song for NieR: Automata, covered by J’Nique Nicole and Emi Evans, thanks to the Square Enix channel.

The above songs are also accompanied by some screenshots by the devs, which reveals a destroyed city, the familiar boss fight shown in a previous video, as well as an image of the desert.
