The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker Features Live Action Psychological Horror

Dive into the mouth of madness with D’Avekki Studios new psychological horror game,  The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker.

The story follows a therapist that has taken over the job of the recently deceased Doctor Dekker. The entire game takes place from the therapist’s perspective, and it will be your job to talk with the patients, manually ask them questions (similar to old school Sierra games) and get to the root of their problems.

The twist in the story however, is that Doctor Dekker didn’t just die, but it is believed that he was murdered by one of his patients, and it is up to you to figure out who did it. The developers have been releasing a series of teasers leading up to their gameplay reveal trailer. Take a look at the teaser trailers that I linked below so that you can get a taste of what The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker will be like when it finally releases.

The really cool part about The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is that the entire game is filmed with 13 actors, and over a terabyte of high quality full motion video footage to put the game together and really bring it to life. The developers recently put up a post talking about how they wrapped up the filming process for all of their scenes for the game and are moving on to putting the footage together.

The second really cool part about The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is that the game  operates similar to the board game Clue, so the murderer will be randomly chosen at the start of the game so that you will never know who the killer is. This feature adds more replay value because you can have multiple playthroughs with the killer always being different from the last game.

At the moment, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is still very early on in development and there is no planned release date. Furthermore, the developers say they will be dropping a new gameplay trailer soon to show off how the game will actually work in a small gameplay trailer video. If you would like to learn more, you can follow the game’s progress by visiting their Steam Greenlight Concept page for further details. The developers say they will launch a proper Steam Greenlight campaign soon to get votes to move their game to Steam, so keep an eye out for that announcement in the future.

For more information about the game you can also check out their official website for further details.
