One of the most unique new games to enter onto Steam’s Early Access is the car simulator from Amistech Games called My Summer Car. The game isn’t quite finished but the developers wanted to get feedback and support from the gaming community so they know what to improve when it’s time for it to launch.
They have plans on keeping My Summer Car in Early Access for just a couple of months as they add in new content, fix glitches and squash bugs. The game sees players looking through car magazines, buying parts and fixing up their first summer car. It sounds like Street Rod for the new generation, but it’s a very different experience, similar to the likes of Jalopi. You can check out the gameplay with the Early Access trailer below.
After putting the parts together, lowering the engine block into the chassis and starting up your car, you can proceed to travel down lonely backroads and nearly-empty highways. You can check out the local stores, take a piss, drink beer and give people the middle finger.
As I said… it’s a rowdy car simulator.
There are a couple of different routes you can take with My Summer Car, including fixing up and upgrading your car so it’s rally-ready, allowing you to make some cash in rally tournaments. You can turn your little jalopi into a tuner car and annoy your neighbors or you can just keep the car running through the summer as a little piece of motorized machinery to get you from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’.
The Finnish-based game is set during the 1990s, there are saunas to visit, music to listen to, hundreds of parts to purchase, and various vehicles to drive… oh yeah, and there is perma-death so be wary.
You can learn more about the game or pick up a digital copy from the Steam store. The Early Access unlocks today.
