PaRappa The Rapper PS4 Demo Download Available

In case you missed the news during Sony’s mammoth all-day conference taking place in Anaheim, California this past weekend, the president of worldwide studios, Shuhei Yoshida, announced that PaRappa The Rapper is making a return to form in a remastered edition for the PlayStation 4.

The classic game is celebrating its 20th anniversary and gamers too young to remember the classic rapping puppy can experience him and his friends for the very first time in full ultra HD 4K resolutions and remastered sound. The music-rhythm game will see players using timed button presses to pass each of the challenges and complete the rap-oriented adventure game starring a rapper-wannabe in training.

During the PlayStation Experience conference a new trailer was made available along with a look at the actual in-game play running on the PS4 Pro, which you can check out below courtesy of PlayStation Access.

All of the stages, characters, sounds and graphics have been brought up to par for today’s generation of PlayStation gamer, bringing the classic PSX hero into [current year].

This is probably one of the few games that should be able to run at 4K without putting too much strain on the PS4 Pro. I mean, the game’s graphics are pretty freaking bare bones, so if the PS4 Pro has trouble running a 20 year old game at 4K then it’ll need more than what any miracle could provide.

Anyway, if you want to play-test the game for yourself, you can actually do so right now by downloading the PS4 demo for free. It’s available as a 576MB file over on the PlayStation Store.

Also, as reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, both Patapon and LocoRoco are also being remastered for the PS4 as well. So you’ll have plenty of remastered games from two decades ago to play on your PS4 throughout 2017.
