PC gamers have no shortage of CCGs to choose from, but there’s really only one card game that trumps all others with its ridiculous over-the-top nature and completely unpredictable nature and that’s the popular Japanese card game, Yu-Gi-Oh!. The game ended up becoming as popular as the equally bombastic animated television show, and now PC gamers get to finally join in on the action, something that was exclusive to portable devices and home consoles for the longest.
Speaking of the anime… Other Ocean Interactive and Konami Digital Entertainment’s Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist centers a good deal of its content around being able to replay and relive the intensity of the duels that took place in the television show.
They allow gamers to relive the storylines and epic moments that helped define the wacky yet deadly card game.
In addition to the Story Campaign mode, there’s also 6,000 different cards for players to collect, stack and build their decks with, along with specialty monsters and compete against 90 different characters.
Other Ocean Interactive also managed to keep the online mode intact so gamers can take their skills online to compete against others. You can get a glimpse of what the gameplay is like with the trailer below.
In addition to advertising the game’s availability on PC, Konami also revealed that Xbox One and PS4 gamers are eligible for picking up some new content for the title.
They added nine new sets of DLC, including story mode content based on season 4 of the anime, along with new cards based on Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V. The game is already receiving some positive review scores and Konami didn’t hesitate to make nearly $90 worth of DLC available right off the bat.
Yes, you heard that right… nearly $90 worth of DLC.
On the upside, the base game itself is fairly cheap. You can pick up a digital copy of Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist for as little as $19.99. It’s not a bad price for a full game… but then again, if you want all the cool cards from the other seasons and other shows, you’ll have to pony up some serious cash.
