Zordix AB has made a name for themselves offering serviceable fun through moderately budgeted racing games that have managed to capture an audience across home console and PC. Zordix latest game is Snow Moto Racing Freedom, a snow-based racing game similar to their recent Aqua Moto Racing Utopia game.
Zordix announced that Snow Moto Racing Freedom is currently seeking upvotes and favorites over on Steam Greenlight.
The game features 12 different racing versions of snowmobiles, 18 different championships to pursue, four-player split-screen offline local play, online multiplayer for competitive racing against players from around the world, time trials, replays and up to 40 different tracks to race across. A new gameplay video was posted up online that you can check out below.
The gameplay is very similar to their other title, Aqua Moto Racing Utopia. The game has actually come a long way in terms of compatibility and playability. It’s still frustrating at some points, but the controls are tight, the racing is smooth and the ability to pull off tricks is fairly seamless. There’s an old-school vibe to the design of the game that reminds me a lot of the old Jet Moto and Wave Race 64 games.
Given that this time players won’t be racing against the unpredictable nature of watery waves but against the harsh conditions of snowy and icy tracks, I’m curious how well the game will handle?
According to Matti Larsson from Zordix AB, he mentioned in the press release…
“As developers in a place where we just had -25c we want to put that feeling of real winter into the game, we want to bring exotic winter to the world”
If they get Greenlit for Steam in a timely manner, they have plans on releasing Snow Moto Racing Freedom on PC in 2017. You can learn more about the game and Zordix other titles by visiting the official Zordix website.
