Sega announced that Puyo Puyo Tetris, the competitive party game with fast-paced multiplayer twist, will launch on the Nintendo Switch and PS4 for $29.99. The game will be available digitally on both systems, as well as have a physical release on the PS4, which will also be $29.99, but the physical Nintendo Switch version will cost $39.99.
The press release explains that the Nintendo Switch retail edition will cost more because it comes with two special keychains. One keychain features a Puyo while the other keychain features a Tetrimino.
The Nintendo Switch retail edition will only be available in limited quantities, so you’ll have to pre-order quick if you want to get a physical copy of the game for Nintendo’s new system.
They also released a new trailer for the four-player Puyo Puyo Tetris crossover game that you can check out below.
The game is pretty weird. On one side you’ll have to play classic Tetris while on the other side you have the match-three Puyo Puyo game going. You can battle against opponents by tripping them up a bit, not unlike classic Puzzle Bobble games from SNK.
The game will offer players up to six different game modes, including Versus, Swap, Party, Big Bang, Challenge and Fusion. There’s an Adventure Mode for single-player gameplay and an online multiplayer mode as players attempt to battle up to three other players in a Puzzle League to unlock new ranks and move up in the global leaderboards.
There’s also a Solo Arcade mode so that you can play alone if you so choose, including a Battle, Challenge and Endurance mode.
You can look for Puyo Puyo Tetris to launch on the Nintendo Switch and PS4 this spring for $29.95. For more info you can feel free to visit the official . Pre-orders are also available right now.
