The final trailer for Guardians has gone live, featuring various super heroes fighting against some super powered Russian villains. The movie looks stupidly ridiculous, but maybe it’s one of those films that doesn’t take itself too seriously and was made to be fun and entertaining. I mean for crying out loud they have a man-bear with a mini-gun fighting on the battlefield. It doesn’t get more ridiculous than that.
Every so often I would hear about the movie Guardians but could never make sense about what the movie was actually about. Well, the final trailer finally puts it all together and makes sense of the plot. Essentially it’s Overwatch meets The Avengers.
An organization called “Patriot” had heroes on call to help them during tough times. The program was retired at some point, but after a Russian super-villain is unleashed, the program is reinstated and the heroes are brought back to fight the Russian menace. Part of the problem was figuring out who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. Everybody looked… the same.
I know the blonde haired chick and the rent-a-Winter Soldier appear to be on the good side. I’m also guessing the Man-Bear is also a good guy. I haven’t really kept up with the film other than seeing some trailer before and not entirely getting the gist of it due to a poorly communicated plot.
This time around the plot was clear-cut but the sides were a little hazy. Some people are calling it the Russian version of X-Men.
The special effects look good in some scenes and then look laughable in others, especially with the whole Man-Bear thing. I don’t know how they managed to edit that into the film without laughing uncontrollably. I’m sure it’ll put a smile on Putin’s face, just like the golden shower champagne was reported by fake news outlets to have put a smile on Trump’s face.
Anyway, you can look for Guardians to launch on February 23rd in theaters.
