There was a lot that got cut from Fallout 4 and one of the things that is now somewhat back in the game is the Combat Zone. The mod entitled “Combat Zone Restored” sees the majority of the original content that was cut from the release, restored in the game. The mod also includes Cait’s original introduction. Bethesda’s Fallout 4 is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Originally when players met Cait they were prompted to see another introductory, one that is different from the version that is present in the current state of Fallout 4. Well, modder Barbariccia added quite a bit of content ripped from the Combat Zone back in to the base game through the latest mod that’s now on NexusMods.
According to the modder, the ideal behind the cut content is said to be due to how glitchy the Combat Zone was with all of the features — although the game still launched with a load of glitches and bugs.
The mod currently adds back Cait’s original introduction, and the basement part of the Combat Zone. Features added in the mod that were also cut from the main game consist of betting on NPC fighters, and the ability for the player to fight for caps.
The mod as of this moment does not restore the “Drinking Buddy” quest to the Combat Zone. The explanation behind this is that the modder isn’t sure if there’s enough remaining in the file to do so. The bartender also does not work, so you will need to bring your own booze… that’s if you do drink.
A video showing the mod in action runs for nine minutes in length and comes in from YouTuber Klone Wolf.
