Cemu 1.7.4 is currently available for Patreon backers. If you don’t want to wait for April 9th to get here where you can download the emulator for free from the official Cemu website, you can pay $5 and get your hands on the backers’ copy from over on the Patreon page.
The release of Cemu 1.7.4 has brought forth a number of fixes, including fixes for the JIT recompiler, additional instruction sets to improve compatibility, new game profile updates, new profile options for graphics packs and new GPU upgrades and bug fixes.
They outline all of the updates over on the Cemu website where 1.7.4’s changelog can be viewed.
However, the real news here is that while Patreon backers are now having their way with Cemu 1.7.4, they’ve also run into problems getting the Wii U version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to work properly. Thankfully, some enterprising individuals on the GBA Temp forums have provided links to one of the graphics packs made available to public to help fix some of the graphical issues that people have encountered when running Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Cemu Wii U emulator.
The 4K graphics pack for the Cemu can be downloaded from over on Github.
The pack offers optimizations for running the game at 4K, along with shader edits that fix some of the graphical artifacts and glitches encountered near the beginning of the game at the Shrine of Resurrection. There are also a few other tweaks to things like the bloom and texture rendering.
A lot of people have also been curious about how well Cemu 1.7.4 runs other games that aren’t The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. YouTuber reznoire did a preview video to give you a look at some of the improvements made to a wide range of popular games played in Cemu, which you can check out below.
You can download the latest version of Cemu right now if you contribute to the Patreon, or you can wait until April 9th next week and download the latest version of the emulator for free from the official Cemu website.
