CD Projekt Red announced that the Gwent: The Witcher Card Game beta is officially live. Gwent is currently available as a free-to-play card collecting game featuring plenty of thrills and frills for gamers who enjoy CCGs.
The game’s free-to-play entry onto the market also marked the full release on Xbox One and PS4 along with cross-play with PC gamers. This means that if you play on PC you can also connect and play against those on either the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4. Unfortunately there’s no cross-play between Xbox One and PS4 users, so this means it’s not possible to have a drunken threesome between PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Someone’s college life is going to be a lot more dull due to that omission.
You can check out the official launch trailer for Gwent below, which fuses some fancy schmancy cinematics with a brief look at how the gameplay works.
You can get in on the Gwent trading card action right now by visiting the GOG.com store page.
In addition to the card game going live, which features the ability to dive into five different factions, whether it be humans, mages or monsters, there’s also some discounts that GOG.com rolled out for various games in light of Gwent’s release.
They’ve discounted the entire Witcher series, which are all marked down by 85% off. This means you can grab the original Witcher for under $2, the Witcher 2 for $2.99, and The Witcher 3 for $24.99.
Additionally, other RPGs have also been discounted, including Pillars of Eternity, which is marked down by 40% off, Tyranny, which is 33% off, the Shadowrun series, which is marked down by 80% off, and the Legend of Grimrock, which is 50% off.
They have a number of other titles discounted as well, ranging up to 85% off for some games, namely CD Projekt’s own The Witcher series.
You can get in on the action right now for Gwent on PC, PS4 or Xbox One and test your mettle in some cross-platform action.
