We The Force Studios’ action-platformer, Randall, won’t be launching on May 30th as it was originally intended to. Due to a hiccup with what the PR called an “oppressive authoritarian regime”, which could be the ratings board or the certification board, they had to push the game out of its May 30th slot and into the June 6th release slate.
The game will be available for both the PlayStation 4 and through Steam for PC. They make it known that the game will only be available digitally in North America for the PS4.
Randall is expected to launch for $14.99.
The developers noted that they were sorry for the slight delay, but the game is still scheduled to launch for the designated platforms.
If you missed out on the original release date news from a few days ago, there’s a trailer to help catch you up on what Randall is all about. You can view it below.
Players take on the role of the schizophrenic, anti-social, anti-authoritarian Randall. The telepathic anti-hero has the ability to control other people’s minds. He uses this ability in a dystopian society to fight through the military regime forces and make his way toward the abode of the dictator who keeps society under constant surveillance and oppression.
With a description like that it would be a farce if the final boss was anyone other than Mark Zuckerberg.
Anyway, the actual gameplay in Randall is a mix of challenge-based platforming and brawling based gameplay. It’s a mix of games like Guacamelee and Ronin. There’s also the mixture of the telepathic abilities, which allows players to take control of any of the on-screen characters to utilize their abilities, not unlike the classic Gamecube game Geist.
You can look to get your hands on Randall when it launches digitally on Steam and the PlayStation store on June 6th.
