Forza 7 Vs GT Sport Video Compares Xbox One X Vs PS4 Pro Graphics

Two and a half minutes worth of footage comparing Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport. Both games were on display during E3 2017, and both games were supposed to be representing the pinnacle of processing power from Microsoft and Sony’s mid-gen refresh consoles.

The YouTube outlet Madz Gaming compiled the two games.

The first thing you’ll notice is that the sounds are vastly different between the two games. Gran Turismo Sport supposedly has completely overhauled audio design for the cars, but they sound extremely soft in the clips above.

Additionally, the physics – and I didn’t think I would say this – but Forza Motorport 7 completely trounces Gran Turismo Sport in the physics department. The slight rattle of the spoiler and wings at high speeds, the rock of the body frame from the g-force during sharp turns, and the aerodynamics of the vehicles absolutely stood out in Forza 7.

In Gran Turismo Sport the cars are stilted and boxy, and there’s practically no weight distribution during turns or shunts, which completely breaks the racing immersion.

A second video of Gran Turismo Sport continues to show the same problems from the first video. Stilted physics, static environments, practically no environmental ambiance, and low quality dust kick-up. Check it out below.

Graphically there’s almost really no comparison.

The ambient occlusion is more pronounced in Forza Motorsport 7. There are denser shadows in Forza Motorsport 7. The physics are more dynamic in Forza Motorsport 7. The sound is surprisingly clear and very realistic in Forza Motorsport 7.

The whole thing is just completely weighed in favor of Microsoft’s Xbox One X and Forza Motorsport 7.

Polyphony Digital looks like they’re just out of their league this time around, but I suspect some part of that may be due to limiting Gran Turismo Sport to run within the confines of the PlayStation VR headset.

It looks like Xbox One X fans will be in for a real treat when the game launches on October 3rd, 2017.
