Xbox Games With Gold For July Has Gamers Fuming Like PS Plus Subscribers

For the first time in a long time Microsoft has been subject to the irascible response from Xbox Live subscribers that’s usually reserved for PlayStation Plus members. Why the sudden change of heart from the black and green brand? Well, a lot of it has to do with the fact that July, 2017’s offerings of Games With Gold just wasn’t hitting the g-spot of expectations.

July kicks off for the Xbox One with Grow Up from Ubisoft. Throughout the month gamers will be able to get their hands on the game that allows them to grow objects to other planets. On July 16th Xbox One owners will then have access to Runbow, a multiplayer racing indie game. You can check it out in action with the July Games With Gold video below.

The inclusion of two indie-style games for the Xbox One did not go over well with the audience at all.

As you can see from the like/dislike meter, a lot of people were not impressed with the Games With Gold for July. That’s typically what the bar looks like for most videos for PlayStation Plus’ free monthly games.

The Xbox One offerings were at least offset with the gritty-as-grit third-person co-op shooter, Kane & Lynch 2 for the Xbox 360.

The game will be available throughout the first half of July, and will be complimented in on the backend of the summer month with LEGO’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

Obviously the only noteworthy and “good” game out of the bunch is Kane & Lynch 2. Microsoft is effectively having its first real PlayStation Plus month, where fans aren’t all too thrilled with July’s smorgasbord of goods.

The software line-up was met with an overwhelming sense of being underwhelmed by the free games.

All I can say is that now Xbox Live subsccribers know what PlayStation Plus subscribers have been going through for the past couple of years.

As usual there were the typical shills in the comment section telling everyone to just be thankful for the free games accompanying the paid-for multiplayer that they have to shell out money for each month in order to play games online, something that Steam users get to do for free and something that Nintendo Switch and Wii U users get to do for free as well (…just up until 2018, anyway).

You can look to get in on the free Games With Gold for Xbox Live starting July 1st.
