Some people are a bit angry that you don’t get to play as Zelda in the upcoming Breath of the Wild second DLC expansion pack, but Nintendo never promised anyone that you would play as Zelda. While some people are still stuck on this hump, Nintendo wasted little time in making sure everyone understood that Link would still be playable in the upcoming DLC and that they would further delve into Zelda’s backstory.
The news comes courtesy of a tweet from Nintendo of Europe, who released a 17 second teaser video featuring Zelda traveling to a temple and meeting with some people. You can check out the clip below.

While a lot of progressives are angry about not being able to play as Zelda, Nintendo is holding firm in not giving in to these people and moving forward with their own creative vision, just the way it should be. That’s not to mention that it would take a serious amount of work (reworking) and effort to make Zelda playable and ensure that all her animations are synched up, all her attire works properly, that she has a proper selection of weapons to use, or magic to unleash. They may as well make an all new game at that point.
Additionally, they also announced that there will be new clothing items to procure throughout your adventures in Hyrule as Link.
Nintendo tweeted out that new clothing attire based on Link’s gear from Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker would be making an appearance in the second DLC pack as well. You can check out the tweet below.

The second DLC will be available for those who own the full version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
