The minimum and recommended requirements for the Destiny 2 beta were revealed in the Bungie Weekly Update. The post detailed what sort of rig you would need to play their FPS sequel to the 2014 outing on your PC.

The PC beta will run from August 28th to August 31st.

The recommended and minimum specs are below:

CPU: Intel – Core i5-2400 AMD – Ryzen R5 1600X
GPU: Nvidia – GeForce GTX 970 AMD – Radeon R9 390
RAM: 8GB

Minimum Spec
CPU: Intel – Core i3-3250 AMD – FX-4350
GPU: Nvidia – GeForce GTX 660 2GB AMD – Radeon HD 7850 2GB
RAM: 6GB

Those are some okay specs. It appears to make sense given that Destiny 2 isn’t that visually impressive. It would have been another Call of Duty: Ghost fiasco if they had been asking for anything higher on the minimum spec requirement… in fact, the recommended requirements for Call of Duty: Ghost from back in 2013 is almost as high as the recommended requirements for Destiny 2, according to the Call of Duty Community page. Hilarious.

The reality is that the Ghost specs were inflated and the game did not require 6GB of RAM to operate. A few tweaks and modders found out that the game ran fine on just 4GB and that it was poorly optimized on PC.

Props to Bungie for not inflating the system requirements for Destiny 2, because that would have been a poor showing on their end.

They also have upgrading specs you might want to consider if you’re attempting to bump up your hardware with near gear, suggesting maybe you go with a GTX 1060 or an i5-7400 if you’re planning on upgrading. Bungie also lists their event machine that they usually use to showcase the game, and it’s running an Intel i7-7700K and a GeForce GTX 1080Ti with 11GB of VRAM, which is not far off from the rig used here for VR.
