Ready Or Not Trailer Reveals Mod Support, Dedicated Servers, Alpha Test Set For August

Void Interactive’s tactical shooter game, Ready or Not, finally received some new gameplay footage after teasing and titillating gamers with the promise of a new-school SWAT game that combines the old-school tactics with all the latest in high-end graphics and gameplay mechanics. It’s been two years since the game was announced, and Void finally rolled out an eight minute gameplay video to showcase a lot of the features and functions at play.

The official gameplay reveal was posted up over on the GameSpot YouTube channel, and you can check out the video below.

As the video explains, players take on the role of a SWAT member within a world steeped in violence and chaos.

The video explains that there is a single-player story mode where you can play through the campaign. There’s also a cooperative mode that can be played online with other players, or you can engage in a PvP mode.

You’ll be able to customize your character’s armor, weapons, and items. And much like the original Rainbow Six, you’ll be able to setup and map out actions for your team ahead of a mission.

The game also rewards non-lethal gameplay. You’re able to kick down doors, blow doors open, or incrementally open doors in order to ease inside. Some doors are booby trapped, so players will have to use caution when entering rooms. You can also attempt to disarm foes and bring them in without killing them, allowing you to arrest enemies.

The best part about the video is that it’s revealed that Ready Or Not will support modding through Steam Workshop support, and the game will allow you to host dedicated servers.

Pre-orders have gone live, but you won’t be able to access any actual gameplay until the limited alpha, which is set to take place in August 2019. The limited beta is a year away, set to commence in June of 2020.
