C.H.A.S.E.D, Horror Game Inspired By FNAF Gets A Free Demo

Rose Hood Games released a demo for their new survival-horror game, C.H.A.S.E.D. The game sees you rummaging through a cottage, desperately trying to stay alive while keeping a ghost from coming through a television, and avoiding a stalker who lurks just outside the abode. Each night brings a new terror and a demo is currently available for the game, featuring a structure not unlike Scott Cawthon’s popular horror game series.

The game is a frenetic fright-fest.

You can hide, interact with the objects within the house, and use a flashlight to keep a stalker at bay.

The game uses a lot of jump scares, haunting sounds and Five Nights At Freddy’s-style gameplay loops to keep you on your toes.

There’s a warning at the beginning of C.H.A.S.E.D that if you suffer from epilepsy or heart problems then it may not be for you, and I can certainly see why. There’s an oppressive tone to the ghastly creatures coming after you. It reminds me of a more frantic, tense-ridden version of Cabin In The Woods. You can see what the gameplay is like with the gameplay video below from AlphaBetaGamer.

If one of your assailants manages to get into the house then you’ll need to basically hide and avoid them until morning.

There are a few places scattered around the cabin for you to hide. In future levels you’ll be able to board up the windows and make use of other contraptions to protect yourself.

The game would have been even more tense if you had access to maybe a hunting rifle, but you only had one box of ammo and no reticule. Could you imagine trying to survive five nights against various horrors with only a handful of bullets and facing off against some entities that can’t die?

That would add an extra layer of strategy to the game, but would probably reduce some of the fear factors.

If you like the concept and design of C.H.A.S.E.D, you can check out the free demo over on GameJolt.com.
