Final Fantasy XV Comrades Expansion To Release On October 31st

Final Fantasy has one side that hates it, another that is indifferent, and one that adores it. With the latest move to add multiplayer functions to the action-adventure RPG could sway more gamers to the latter side, especially when Final Fantasy XV: Comrades expansion set to release on October 31st across PS4 and Xbox One.

With Episode Ignis set to debut sometime this December, fans and gamers alike will have another expansion set to extend Final Fantasy XV via  Comrades. Square Enix just published a new trailer to Final Fantasy XV‘s YouTube channel for Tokyo Game Show 2017, which can be seen right here.

According to the new video’s description, Final Fantasy XV players will be able to create their own character and join up with three other friends.

Accompanying friends comes “epic quests” and battles in the game’s first and only online multiplayer expansion. The story will see you and your friends as survivors from Kingsglaive in hope to find out more about the disappearance of Noctis — that is after the events in Chapter 13 from the main story.

I’m not sure how this expansion will be received at launch, but it seems as if this feature coupled with the soon to launch PC version will only expand the game’s lifespan and bring more content to come.

In the meantime, though, Comrades is set to drop this Halloween. However, this means that folks who own Final Fantasy XV will not only need the base game but also its expansion. Additionally, an Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus subscription is required to utilize the forthcoming multiplayer function.

Lastly, if you happen to be a Season pass owner you will gain access to Comrades at no extra cost. Of course, since the multiplayer DLC will be online, you will still need your console subscription service active.
