Greak: Memories Of Azur, Hand-Drawn Metroidvania Picked Up By Team17

Team17 announced that Greak: Memories of Azur has joined their publishing label. The game is currently in development by Mexican developers Navegante. It was announced some time ago, actually, back in July of 2019 when they first introduced the gaming community to their idea.

I instantly took note of Greak: Memories of Azur due to the fact that the three playable siblings in the game each have a unique ability, and they made sure to give the brother the right-fitting skill set to use his physical strength and melee prowess to protect his other two companions.

The game is basically like a single-player version of Trine, but with a level structure and design mirrored around the Metroidvania concept. You can get a glimpse at the game in action with the trailer below.

The game features three playable characters, as mentioned above. The female sibling, Adara, has the ability to utilize magic, while Greak can fit through small spaces and reach areas the others can’t. Raydel is the oldest of the trio and comes equipped with a hardy sword and shield, capable of defending against attackers and cutting down foes who get in their way.

The press release mentions that the hand-drawn platformer will make its way to both PC and home consoles, but they don’t go into any sort of detail as to which consoles are being targeted or when the game will fully be released.

Last year they did mention that they were targeting a 2020 release, so it’s possible that that’s still on the table for sometime later this year.

For now, it looks like the game is wholesome and doesn’t appear to be pushing any degenerate Left-wing agendas, which is a breath of fresh air during these trying and dire times. But as always, it’s best to stay vigilant and keep your eyes peeled for anything that may be amiss.
