The Surge 2 PC Closed Beta Sign-Up Application Now Live

For once a game is getting a proper PC beta test ahead of release — although the game’s quality and the gameplay is obviously subjective. In this case, it’s Focus Home Interactive and Deck13’s The Surge 2. The forthcoming sequel is due for release in  2019 across PC via Steam, PS4, and Xbox One, while closed beta sign-ups are live for the PC platform.

According to the newly released info, the team notes that they have been “working hard on The Surge 2,” and feel it’s time that gamers offer feedback about the sequel.

There’s bad news, though. Only around 50 people will be accepted to help test the game that is The Surge 2. Anyway, if you want to play the game, you can hit up docs.google.com to try and fill a spot in the limited closed beta for The Surge 2.

Furthermore, back in 2018, Focus Home Interactive shared that the second game will keep staple features while flaunting new mechanics:

“The Surge 2 keeps what fans and critics loved about the original – hardcore combat utilizing a unique, dynamic limb targeting system and deep character progression – while also expanding greatly upon the formula.”

Yes, the second title will expand on the first Surge’s combat system. Moreover, changes to the environment have been made, meaning new expanded areas will be present in The Surge 2:

“The Surge 2 takes place in a brand new environment: a sprawling, devastated city with larger and more ambitious level design, made possible by Deck13’s upgraded and improved engine. Combat is more brutal and tactical than ever, with even more options thanks to an expanded limb targeting system.”

According to Focus Home Interactive, new environments will be larger and more ambitious than the first title as well. Lastly, new weapons and upgrades will be present to help fight against new enemies and bosses.

“In addition, more abilities, weapons, implants, and drones give players a vast arsenal to build their character with, in their fight against the array of diverse new enemies and bosses.”

In the meantime, the second Surge for PC, PS4, and Xbox One will release this year and has a Steam page up sporting screenshots showing off enemies, armor, environments, and weapons:
