Bandai Namco recently showcased Scarlet Nexus during the latest Summer of Gaming 2020 digital event. The game in question will release for PC and home consoles (as well as next-gen systems) and currently has two videos up on it covering its gameplay.
If you happen to fancy Bandai Namco’s Scarlet Nexus, know that it won’t release specifically for Xbox One and Xbox Series X (contrary to the promotional material in the following videos). The game will end up on PC, PS4, and PS5.
As for the game itself, Scarlet Nexus “aims to change the way gamers view Japanese RPGs” as per Stephen Akana — Senior Brand Manager for Bandai Namco Entertainment America.
Moreover, the game‘s story explores a future where humanity happens to discover a psionic hormone in the human brain, which grants people extra-sensory powers.
In this new era, mutants that are known as the “Others” come down from the sky wanting human brains. These mutants are very strong, forcing humanity to respond with a defense force possessing acute extra-sensory abilities — known as psionics — to fight off this dangerous threat.
From here, players will assume the role of Yuito Sumeragi — an agent of the Other Suppression Force (OSF).
The latest gameplay trailer on Scarlet Nexus is currently restricted to IGN, as seen below:
A cringy interview containing current year interviewers is also up, which features game director Kenji Anabuki and producer Keita Iizuka:
It’s worth noting that Scarlet Nexus has no release date as of right now. However, that should change in the foreseeable future given that the above interview makes mention that info will trickle down “soon.”
Last but not least, Bandai Namco will release Scarlet Nexus sometime in the future across PC via Steam, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X. More info on this game can be found by hitting up bandainamcoent.com.
