Monster Hunter: World initially released back on January 26th, 2018, and although the game is inching closer to its two-year mark Capcom will release its biggest expansion, Iceborne, this September. Ahead of its Q3 release, the company announced exclusive PS4 beta dates that exclude Xbox One and PC players.

If you don’t game on Sony’s PS4, you won’t be able to participate in the first beta session. That’s right the first Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta will go live for those rocking PS Plus on June 21st at 3:00 A.M. PT | 6:00 A.M. ET | 11:00 A.M. BST. This test is set to run up until June 24th.

Folks that prefer to game on PS4 and wish to participate in the second beta without PS Plus will be able to on June 28th at 3:00 A.M. PT | 6:00 A.M. ET | 11:00 A.M. BST. This session will end on July 1st.

And like recent test sessions, the option to preload will kick-off in a couple of days (for each beta) allowing players to maximize their time in the upcoming first and second trials. Additionally, the base game is not required to participate in the Iceborne test.

As for the expansion itself, Capcom says it will bring three different quests that contain the Great Jagras (beginner), the Banbaro (intermediate), and the Tigrex (expert). The beta will also have different weapons types to test as well as consumable items to use at launch upon completing each of the aforementioned hunts.

Also, Capcom issued out the following letter explaining what players can expect from the Iceborne beta:

“The beta offers players three quest choices, including the beginner-friendly Great Jagras hunt from Monster Hunter: World for newcomers, the brand new horned brute wyvern Banbaro for an intermediate challenge or returning series favorite Tigrex for the fiercest of hunters. The beta will let players test out all 14 weapon types in any of the three quests and the training area. The weapons include new features plus there are new Slinger tool options such as the Clutch Claw grapple mechanic. Upon completing each quest for the first time, hunters can earn a total of three item packs containing helpful consumable items that will be available to use in the full version of the Iceborne expansion when it releases.”

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is scheduled to hit PS4, and Xbox One on September 6th, 2019, and for PC sometime this winter. In the meantime, you can check out the latest trailer courtesy of Monster Hunter‘s YouTube channel:
