RiMS Racing, Realistic Motorcycle Sim Announced

One of the new games that Nacon revealed recently is from Italian outfit, RaceWard Studio, called RiMS Racing. The game was introduced with a three and a half minute video, covering the basic concept of the game as well as what the studio hopes to achieve with the new IP.

The first minute of the reveal is basically the CEO talking about how the developers actually ride motorcycles in real life, and that said real-life experience helps with designing games based on their hobbies.

RiMS Racing is also running on Kylotonn’s engine that was used for TT Isle of Man and the upcoming Test Drive Unlimited.

Marco Ponte talks about how the game is designed with simulation enthusiasts in mind, but that the game will also include accessibility features for casuals.

Hopefully it’s not gimped the way a lot of other racing titles are, and it’s more akin to the Ride series than say Need For Speed or the newest Project CARS entry.

Unfortunately we don’t get to see any actual in-game play, and Ponte only talks about how the game will handle, what the mechanics will be like, and how all the tracks will be based on real-world locations.

RiMS Racing will also feature a complete career mode, the ability to race online against other players, and motorcycle customization so you can fine-tune the parts, handling, and performance of each bike.

It would have been nice if there were at least a few clips of the actual in-game play so we could see what they were aiming to achieve or how the bikes will handle, but I suppose we’ll have to wait a while before we can see what will make RiMS Racing stand out from the rest of the herd.

No platforms or release date was set, but expect RiMS Racing to make its way to the Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC.
