Boundary is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Chinese dev team the SurgicalScalpels. The multiplayer game has a new teaser trailer out, which the game will launch sometime this year exclusively for PS4.
Firstly, folks looking for a single-player experience out of Boundary will be out of luck. The game primarily focuses on online play and currently has no roadmap showing anything dealing with a solo campaign.
As for gameplay and aesthetics, the SurgicalScalpels opt for a feel captured back in 2009 courtesy of Shattered Horizon and gameplay similar to Call of Duty: Ghosts‘ space mission. In other words, it’s a Sci-Fi space marine PvP arcade shooter.
Anyway, the devs over this upcoming game released a new teaser trailer:
“The multiplayer tactical space-based shooter that puts players in the role of a heavily armed astronauts in space engaging in fierce zero gravity firefights. Fully customizable loadouts, weapons and ammo types across 6 classes of Astronaut for players to choose from in multiple game modes.”
Although I’m not a fan of purely multiplayer games, if you happen to be, do know that Boundary features a plethora of customizable equipment and weapons as seen in the month-old G-Fusion trailer:
At this point, it’s unclear whether or not the devs will bring this game to PC and Xbox One or if it will remain a PS4 exclusive? Another question left open is if it does come to PC will it hit Steam or the Epic Games Store? While those questions remain unanswered, it’s worth pointing out that the game has no release date.
As of now, the “tacticool” FPS space shooter is slated to drop sometime this year. However, I wouldn’t be shocked if it gets pushed to 2020.
